Since its founding in November 2025, the special police unit “Ferrum” has opened 708 investigations, obtained 77 arrest warrants and seized 73 live firearms. The unit focuses on the use of firearms in organized crime. At the Berlin public prosecutor’s office, an investigative group called “Telum” handles the cases. The name is Latin for a weapon used in attacks.
Early Saturday morning, shots were fired at a bar in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. Several rounds hit the windows of the establishment while people were inside. No one was hurt. “Ferrum” is also investigating an explosion at Stuttgarter Platz almost two weeks ago, as well as shots fired at the facade of a building and a café in Neukölln.
