Berlin, July 22nd, 2026 (The Berlin Spectator) – Bob Dylan will return to Germany this fall as part of a new European tour. The 84-year-old singer-songwriter is scheduled for seven shows between late October and late November: Flensburg’s GP Joule Arena on October 23rd, Bremen’s ÖVB-Arena on October 25th, and Düsseldorf’s Mitsubishi Electric Hall on October 27th, followed by a string of dates in mid-to-late November — Munich’s Olympiahalle on the 15th, Freiburg’s Sick Arena on the 17th, Stuttgart’s Porsche Arena on the 20th, and Frankfurt’s Festhalle closing out the run on the 22nd. Born Robert Allen Zimmerman in 1941, Dylan remains one of the most influential songwriters in popular music history, having sold more than 125 million records since breaking through in the early 1960s. Songs including “Blowin’ in the Wind”, “The Times They Are a-Changin'” and “Like a Rolling Stone” became genre-defining standards, cementing his role at the center of folk, rock and protest music. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016 for his poetic contributions to the American song tradition.
Dylan has toured almost continuously since the late 1980s, and this latest run continues to draw heavily from his 2020 album “Rough and Rowdy Ways”. It’s not yet clear which musicians will join him for the European dates — his backing band has seen several changes during the current US leg, with guitarists Julian Lage and Joel Paterson among those who have recently shared the stage with him.
His son, Jakob Dylan, happens to be touring Europe at the same time, fronting The Wallflowers on a run marking the 30th anniversary of their breakout album “Bringing Down the Horse”. The Wallflowers are booked for the Rolling Stone Beach Festival at Weissenhäuser Strand on November 13th and 14th. Despite the overlap, scheduling leaves little room for a joint appearance — which would in any case be unprecedented. Bob and Jakob Dylan have never performed together on a public stage.
