Some of the extreme heat from southwestern Europe is expected to reach Germany. If the weather forecasters are right, especially Berlin will feel like a pizza oven on Tuesday and Wednesday. The good news? It won’t last too long.
Berlin, July 16th, 2022 (The Berlin Spectator) — Making a pizza is easy. You just need pre-made dough. Cover it with a thin layer of tomato sauce, add cheese, onion, tuna and garlic. Then, let the oven do the rest. In the coming days, we are the pizza and Germany is the oven. If we put grated cheese on our heads and walk around in Friedrichstrasse, it will melt in no time. Moving a lot will be rather difficult and unhealthy, and even dangerous, due to excessive heat.

Stuffy Air
Even Hamburg will feel it. After a rainy Saturday and a sort of cool but sunny Sunday, a rather warm Monday will have to be expected in the northern port city. Tuesday, July 19th and Wednesday, July 20th, 2022, are supposed to be hot indeed. The temperature level will be reaching 32 degrees Centigrade (90 degrees Fahrenheit) on both days. Not bad, right?
According to meteorologists, Cologne will look better. But here, the heat might become unbearable. Residents there, and all of those tourists who constantly stare at the giant Cologne Cathedral, can expect a dry and rather warm weekend with temperatures of up to 26 degrees C (79 degrees F). Then, on Monday, the air might start feeling stuffy, at 33 degrees C (91 degrees F). For Tuesday, July 19th, 36 degrees C (97 degrees F) were forecast. Then, it will gradually cool down. The next weekend is supposed to be rainy and cool down there.
Hard to Take
Stuttgart looks sort of similar, except the temperature might be slightly lower. The heat wave might last longer, namely until Friday. In Munich, this weekend will already be sunny and pretty hot. During the week, the heat is supposed to increase until it reaches 34 degrees C (93 degrees F) on Friday, the hottest day of the week in the Bavarian capital. In Frankfurt, the heat is supposed to last until next Saturday. Here, Tuesday will be the hottest day. At 36 degrees C (97 degrees F), the pizza should be hot and ready quickly.
Ready for the hottest city? This is what Berliners should expect: Today, Saturday July 16th, 2022, is just the right day to relax at home, since it is supposed to rain all morning before the sky starts clearing up. At 21 degrees (70 degrees F), nobody will feel like jumping into the Wannsee lake. Starting on Sunday, the German capital will warm up until the temperatures become hard to take.
Cooling Shelf
On Tuesday, 33 degrees C (91 degrees F) should be reached. And on Wednesday, Berlin is supposed to be the hottest spot in the Federal Republic, with 37 degrees C (99 degrees F). This will be the pizza moment, the kind of day we should spend in front of the cooling shelf in our local supermarket. Berlin is not Athens or Madrid. But it will be, next week. Next weekend, the rain and those cooler temperatures are supposed to return.
