Berlin, October 5th, 2026 (The Berlin Spectator) – On October 7th, 2023, members of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad entered Israel by the hundreds. They murdered almost 1,200 Israelis and some nationals of other countries. Entire families were burned alive in their homes or shot in cold blood. Many terrorists were so proud of what they did that they posted videos of their acts on the Internet.
They also raped countless Israeli women as well as some men and took 250 people hostage. While they did all of that, Hamas attacked Israel with thousands of missiles. October 7th, 2023, marked the worst terror attack against Jews since Nazis Germany was defeated by the Allies in 1945.
On the third anniversary of the massacres, rapes, abductions and missile attacks, the victims will be commemorated in Berlin. At the same time, Israel haters in the German capital and other cities in the Federal Republic are organizing protests during which they intend to celebrate Palestinian terror and call for more of it. So far, nobody has stopped those plans.
Ambassador to Speak
In Berlin, two main commemoration events were planned, for those who were murdered three years ago: On October 7th, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., a rally entitled “Never Forget October 7th, Never be Silent” will be taking place at Bebelplatz square. Germany’s Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt, Cornelia Seibeld, the President of the Berlin House of Representatives, and Israel’s Ambassador to Germany, Ron Prosor, are among the speakers.
Also, Noga Friedman, the widow of Ido Rosenthal, a soldier who was killed fighting Hamas close to Kibbutz Be’eri three years ago, will be speaking in front of the participants. This event is being organized by the Central Council of Jews in Germany, the Deutsch-Israelische Gesellschaft (German-Israeli Association, abbreviation: DIG), the World Jewish Congress, the Jewish Congregation Berlin, Chabad Berlin and others.
The second large commemoration event for the victims of October 7th is scheduled to take place on the same day at 4:00 p.m. on Berlin’s Sderotplatz square. This one was organized by the Berlin office of the German-Israeli Association. Here, the District Mayor of Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Maren Schellenberg, will be speaking, among others.
Legal Implications
On the same anniversary, antisemites will be staging protests. In Berlin, Cologne, Duisburg, Frankfurt and Hanover, they will be calling for more acts of terror against Israel, the only Jewish state. Whether the German authorities will ban those events beforehand is unclear.
In the early evening of October 7th, a protest entitled “Down with Colonialism” is supposed to take place in Berlin. Even though Israel is not a colonial state, this protest is directed against it. “Until total liberation” it says on an online banner which announces this event, above a picture that shows an excavator breaking through a border post. This is exactly how some of the Hamas murderers entered Israel three years ago.
The Berlin Police Department is prepared. According to the “Morgenpost” daily, 1,000 officers will be on duty. Their task is to protect the city from violent terror supporters and to take action against hate speech.
The antisemitic rally in Berlin is not the only pro-terror protest registered with the authorities for October 7th. The organization Honestly Concerned warned of several similar events, one of which is scheduled to take place in Hanover. “October 7th is being reframed on German streets”, the NGO says. The Hanover protest is being organized by a group that calls itself “Intifada Hanover”. At this protest, they intend to spread the genocide lie against Israel yet again, as their banners suggest. Also, they will be calling for more terror: “Resistance until victory”, it says. This kind of terror support might have legal implications for them.
