Berlin, October 21st, 2026 (The Berlin Spectator) – Sunday will be a big day. First of all, Central Europe is switching back to regular time. Secondly, BER Airport’s new flight plan will kick in.
Starting on Sunday, the airport located in Schönefeld (Brandenburg), just outside of Berlin, will have 70 airlines offer flights to 140 destinations in 50 countries. This means there are ten more destinations than last winter, even though Ryanair is largely pulling out of this region and this particular airport.
So, do you want to go to London in order to experience a gig at the Jazz Café? You will get there from BER Airport. How about watching the lootings in Paris, having Apfelstrudel in Vienna or hitting the beach in Barcelona? No problem. According to the airport operator, destinations in Italy are big too.

Newcastle and Bologna
Air Baltic added a new route for the winter. This airline will be taking passengers to Kuusamo once a week, starting on December 19th, 2026. Air Algérie’s weekly flight to Algiers will now be taking place on Sundays. Condor is already offering new flights to Abu Dhabi.
Is there more? Yes. Easy Jet is connecting Schönefeld to Newcastle. From November 20th to December 21st, these flights will be taking off twice a week. The same budget airline will be flying to Milan.
Let’s look at Eurowings’ new flight plan from BER: They will be flying to Rome four times per week starting on November 2nd, and to Bologna three times. They also go to Dubai and Jeddah. Eurowings wouldn’t be Eurowings if they did not have a route to Baghdad from December 10th. Also they will continue their flights to Porto, Bilbao, Edinburgh, Sarajevo, Rovaniemi and Kittilä.
Beijing, Anyone?
If Barcelona, Rome and these conventional destinations are not good enough, try Beijing. Hainan Airlines is going there five times a week. And they are integrating new equipment. The airline spared no expense, which is why they will use their Airbus A330-900 Neo three times a week. We have no clue what they will be flying the other two times.
You guessed it: There are even more destinations this winter. How about Doha? By the way: Wizz Air is increasing its flights from Schönefeld substantially: Sofia four times per week, Vilnius three times. Sarajevo, Milan, Priština and Suceava are listed too.
Switch your phone to flight mode, lean back, relax and enjoy your flight.
